The Dream Behind the Wine

At the heart of Dawn’s Dream Winery is founder Dawn Galante—a dreamer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist who believes wine can do more than fill a glass. It can tell a story, bring people together, and help make the world a little better.

Dawn founded Dawn’s Dream Winery in 2011 with a clear vision: to craft beautiful wines while supporting causes that uplift women, children, and animals. What began as a personal dream quickly grew into a purpose-driven winery rooted in generosity, connection, and the belief that small actions can create meaningful change.

Guided by her philosophy to Dare to Dream, Dawn approaches winemaking with both respect for tradition and curiosity for discovery. While her wines honor the elegance of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Rosé sourced from premier vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands and Monterey County, Dawn is equally inspired to explore varietals that bring new energy and personality to the portfolio.

Today, the winery is known not only for its coastal Pinot and Chardonnay, but also for distinctive expressions of Riesling, Zinfandel, Sangiovese, and carefully crafted blends from Sonoma County. These wines reflect Dawn’s belief that great winemaking comes from both honoring place and embracing creativity.

Each bottle is crafted with intention and approachability—wines meant to be shared, discovered, and remembered.

Beyond the winery, Dawn’s commitment to leadership in the wine community continues to grow. She is a member of Les Dames d'Escoffier and was recently elevated to Supreme Knight in the Knights of the Vine, an honor recognizing her contributions to wine education and the culture of wine.

When she’s not welcoming guests in Carmel-by-the-Sea or supporting nonprofit partners, Dawn finds inspiration outdoors and with her husband and family. Whether hiking coastal trails, horseback riding, or gathering around the table with loved ones, she believes life’s best moments begin with a dream—and a shared glass of wine.
